Who we are

Two people with a deep connection to East Africa

Two people with a deep connection to East Africa, and an extensive network of the people who make exceptional journeys possible.

Safarini began with a simple idea: we wanted to share the East Africa we knew and loved with other people. Over the years, we found that nothing gave us more satisfaction than introducing friends to the regions, camps and communities that had become such an important part of our own lives, and seeing the countries we love through their eyes.

Oli Raison

Director

British, Oli lived in Kenya for 14 years, spending much of that time in Laikipia and northern Kenya. He is currently based in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico.

A lifelong traveller and explorer, Oli spent years discovering some of the most remote and extraordinary parts of East Africa, often travelling by motorcycle and far beyond the established tourist routes. Along the way, he developed a deep knowledge of the region and lasting relationships with the people who know it best.

Fluent in Swahili, Oli stays closely involved with every journey, working with you directly to understand what you're after and shape the experience around it. His relationships with camp owners, guides, conservancy managers and community leaders across Kenya and Tanzania are central to the way Safarini designs its journeys.

Boris Maguire

Director

American, Boris has lived in Kenya since 2015 with his family in the Lolldaiga Hills in central Kenya. He has led operations across several African markets and is the primary operator behind Safarini's journeys.

Having lived and worked in a number of countries around the world before settling in Kenya, he brings a genuinely international perspective to how guests are hosted. He is a co-founder of both Safarini Encounters and Safarini Leadership.

Boris brings a deep practical understanding of the logistics involved in creating complex journeys across the region. His knowledge of northern Kenya's wildlife, conservancies and communities, combined with extensive local relationships, allows him to manage the operational detail behind even the most ambitious itineraries and make complicated journeys feel effortless.

“I've travelled extensively, but my experience with Safarini Encounters exceeded our expectations in every way. Nothing felt packaged. It was completely personal, effortless and extraordinary.”
